Our spotlight blog posts usually focus on Republican women who have had a positive impact on our country. We at Dolley Madison Project thought it was of the utmost importance to turn our focus for this week’s blog post to Corey Comperatore. Corey tragically lost his life protecting his wife and daughter during the failed assassination attempt of Pres. Trump, during the rally in Pennsylvania on July 13, 2024.
Corey Comperatore was a retired chief of the Buffalo Township Volunteer Fire Department. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend. Corey was also a devout Christian and a staunch Republican.
Corey, his wife, and his daughter attended the Trump rally on Saturday, June 13th. During the failed assassination attempt of President Trump, Cory told his family to get down and used his body as a shield to protect his family from the gunfire. Tragically, Corey lost his life protecting his family.
A husband’s and father’s love knows no bounds. We pray for Cory and his family. May he rest in eternal peace. We also pray for the other victims, David Dutch and James Copenhaver. We hope they continue to recover from their injuries and fully recover.
This is a horrible and tragic event that occurred on July 13th. Political violence is never the answer in our country. We resolve our political differences through dialogue and at the ballot box. The Dolley Madison Project strongly encourages all Americans who are legally eligible to vote, to get involved in the election process and vote on November 5th.
